Maryland Table Tennis Center - Video Visit - Watch Cheng Yinghua and Jack Huang train their students. Take a drive in downtown Washington DC. See Larry Hodges hit with Han Xiao. Check out several other regulars at the Ping Pong Center.  Wheelchair player, Andre Scott trains with Jack.  Look around the room; see young and old people learning the game.  Notice the special trick they use with the net on the Newgy Robot table; there is only a 6 inch high string  so balls don't get stuck on the table.

"Yes; I think it's sealed."

Unbelievable.  That alone should discourage anyone from ever going there...unless of course there are areas that are not concrete....which are not clearly decpicted on the upload.   Needless to say though...no one should be training on concrete.

While I'm not an advocate of concrete, I can think of some reasons to train on it.

I heard shock is helpful in preventing Osteoporosis.

I also think its best to prepare for a Tournament by simulating actual conditions and many US Tournaments are held on concrete.

I was told MDTTC had come under discussion here. For the record, while it's a concrete floor, it's covered with the same red flooring used at the U.S. Open, Nationals and international tournaments. The covering wasn't there when Rob was at the MDTTC and made the tapes.

No, we bought our own flooring.
