In World War II, Marine Corps Major Greg Boyington, nicknamed
"Pappy" because of his advanced age for a fighter pilot, collected a
squadron of misfits and screwballs who became the terrors of the South
Pacific. These fighter pilots were known as "The Black Sheep." The
squadron had a dog that was a Bull Terrier named "Meatball."

6. 12 Oct 76 Prisoners of War - Japanese air ace, shot
down by Pappy, faces rough treatment at the hands of Pappy's men. But when he
clobbers them at ping-pong, they draft him to represent their unit at a
tournament against a rival Seabee outfit.
